The hotel doesn't quite match up to its online description. They don't allow smoking even 20 feet away. The room with a kitchen lacked utensils and pots and pans, and cleanliness was an issue.
Rooms
5.0
The room with a kitchen was a letdown as it lacked basic amenities and wasn't as clean as expected.
Service
6.0
While the service staff tried to maintain a balance following guidelines, there were issues with follow-up on problems we encountered during our stay.
Location
7.0
The location was convenient for accessing Shelter Island and surrounding restaurants, but it wasn't central to the main town area.
Dining

I found the hotel to be conveniently located, close to the waterfront and just a short distance from downtown. The rooms were prepared for two people with two sets of bedding, and the staff was friendly and nice overall. However, there were hidden costs not clearly stated upfront, and some facilities were lacking clarity. Despite that, the location was great for accessing Shelter Island and nearby restaurants.

The room I stayed in had two beds and was well-prepared for two people with two sets of bedding. It was also not excessively close to the front office, providing a bit of privacy.

The staff were friendly and nice, and they even loaned us some kitchenware during our stay. However, there were some issues regarding hidden costs and lack of communication on supposed facilities.

The location was good for those wanting to be close to the water but away from downtown noise. It was also convenient for accessing Shelter Island and great local eateries.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were limited, especially in terms of drinking water availability. However, they did offer local and seasonal products which were a nice touch.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was perfect for exploring San Diego, close to the water but away from downtown noise. The rooms, unfortunately, didn't match the pictures and had a cold draft, even though they had a kitchen with no utensils or pots and pans.

The room I stayed in was nothing like the pictures and had a cold draft. It did have a kitchen, but there were no utensils or pots and pans.
Service

The service was a bit of a rollercoaster. At first, they were kind and loaned us some kitchenware, but then suggested we switch hotels due to our own fault. However, they did follow safety guidelines well.

The location was very convenient for my plans in San Diego and made me feel at home. It was close to Mission Bay, Sunset Cliffs, and Cabrillo National Monument.

The dining options were limited, mainly for drinking water. There were some home-made desserts available.
